How PlayPaid makes money
Short version: some links pay us a commission, our opinions don't.
Affiliate links & referral codes
Some listings carry an affiliate link or referral code. If you install or sign up through one, the app's company pays PlayPaid a commission. It costs you nothing — referral codes usually give you a signup bonus too. Every such link is marked as an affiliate link next to the button and tagged rel="sponsored" for search engines.
The rules we hold ourselves to
- Commissions never touch trust scores. Vetting verdicts are written from sourced evidence before any monetisation is attached, and an app can lose its rating regardless of what it pays.
- Apps rated Avoid never get links of any kind — affiliate or plain — even though "avoid" pages are some of our most-read.
- No paid placements. Nobody can buy a position in a ranking, a better score, or their way off the avoid list. If that ever changes, this page will say so in plain words.
- Every trust note traces to a source listed on the app's page. If we can't source it, we don't publish it.
The newsletter
The weekly digest is free. If it ever carries a sponsor, the sponsored section will be labelled as such.
Your data
Our analytics beacon logs the date, page path and referring site — no IP addresses, no cookies, no fingerprinting. Newsletter emails are stored for sending the digest and nothing else; reply STOP to any issue and we delete you.
